Early in her career, she worked for the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Parks Department, the Iowa Highway Department and the Kansas City Parks Department. Following a move to St. Louis, she worked with Scott Weinberg at Suburbia Gardens, where she was involved with pool, masonry and landscape installation. In 1988, Gail moved to Houston where she worked first for Teas Nursery and then went on to work with Rosenblath Landscape Service and Danny McNaire.
In 1989, Gail opened Gail Hartz and Associates, with an early focus on design work and later expanding to installation and maintenance with projects in River Oaks, West University, Memorial and Bellaire. During the Whitmire administration, Gail was honored by the City of Houston for her work with the clock tower project in downtown Houston. Gail’s passion is to help bring a Garden of Eden to all of her clients by listening to the customer’s needs and vision for their dream outdoor space.
